This handmade stoneware ceramic mug show cases an indigo and brown brushed decoration along with impressed flower shapes, and marks from plants that I have found in the countryside. Made in my garden studio, in Kent, UK I first throw the mugs before decorating the outside. I have deliberately left marks that are made during the process of making on the mug, and applied other ones, to emphasise the plasticity of the clay when it is wet. These manipulations increase the tactile quality of the mug, and enrich your experience while you are drinking.
Once biscuit fired, I apply a transparent glaze inside and out, and it is fired to stoneware temperatures. These mugs are made with a dark coloured clay.

• All items are packaged in a special cardboard box. They are then placed in a further box with compostable chips for transit. Occasionally I use other packaging in order to reuse it and avoid sending it to landfill.
