Large White Handmade Pottery Teapot with Midsummer Flower Design, #1
This handmade stoneware ceramic teapot holding two to three mugs of tea will add a touch of charm to your teatime routine, be a wonderful surprise for a tea enthusiast, or as a housewarming or wedding present. The pale buff coloured stoneware clay is decorated with a white slip and carefully uses a slip and sgraffito technique to create an elegant Scandi inspired flower design, etching through the slip to the clay behind. The bright rainbow coloured flowers are inspired by sitting in my garden in midsummer. The teapot is hand thrown on my potter’s wheel and then constructed in my garden studio in Kent, UK. The components have been thoughtfully shaped to ensure a comfortable grip and effortless pouring. The lid fits snuggly, angled to stay in place. The clay is fired with a transparent, food safe glaze. My maker’s mark is stamped into the base of the teapot.
The actual teapot I will send out is shown in the second and following photos.
