With its elegant and curved outline this handcrafted ceramic vase captures the essence of graceful movement. The vase is encircled with a misty turquoise brush mark and is inspired by the natural beauty of flowers and plants that I see around me in the Kent countryside and give the vase a sense of rhythm, complimenting the form of the vase itself. It has been marked with dried flower stems, literally bringing the countryside into the pot.
The vase is ideal for a bouquet or bunch of flowers, arranged in a modern, relaxed fashion. Its opens outwards at the top which is ideal for allowing flowers to naturally drape outwards. The vase would make an perfect accent to any space and be a wonderful gift to anyone who appreciates flowers.
The vase is hand thrown on my pottery wheel in my studio in Kent, UK. Following its biscuit firing, a waterproof, transparent glaze is applied and fired to stoneware temperatures.
