Large Handmade Japandi Style White Serving Plate with Blue Decoration
This large stoneware platter would be a wonderful addition to your tableware collection. The handmade plate is made from a dark coloured clay, with a white slip background and a large black brush mark in order to accentuate the shape of the plate. With its larger size, it is both versatile for presenting food but can also be used as a centrepiece or decorative accent to a room.
The plate is hand thrown on my potters’ wheel in my garden studio in Kent, UK. It is then turned to create the foot rings on the base of the platter and then decorated by hand. I have gently marked the sides of the plate to give interest and accentuate the plastic nature of the material.
