This hand thrown stoneware ceramic cup show cases a misty pale blue washed decoration over a white coloured background, incorporating impressed leaves into the design. I have deliberately left marks that are made during the process of making on the cup, and applied other ones, to emphasise the plasticity of the clay when it is wet. These manipulations increase the tactile quality of the mug, and enrich your experience while you are drinking.
Once biscuit fired, I apply a transparent glaze inside and out, and it is fired to stoneware temperatures. These mugs are made with a dark coloured clay.
